Snoopy Cha-ya Ise ~Mie Prefecture~

We are off to Snoopy 茶屋/Cha-ya/Teahouse located in Mie Prefecture! This will be another Japanese style character themed cafe we are going to visit. We have already visited Rilakkuma Cafe right here if you haven’t read that yet. Now, let’s see what they got!

Snoopy Cha-ya is located in Oharaimachi/Okage Yokocho which means that the teahouse will be in the same street with other food vendors and you will see their sign right down below. It’s not hard to miss! I have already written a post about Oharaimachi/Okage Yokocho right here if you are interested in reading about other food spots I have visited.

Immediately, you will see the Peanuts gang dressed in their kimonos through the entrance. They are so cute! I couldn’t wait to try traditional Japanese food from this teahouse. Now let’s enter…

I have arrived right when it opened and the teahouse was empty. Which was great because I got to look around the teahouse and found hidden Snoopy all over the place. I like how they incorporated traditional Japanese designs in this cafe inside and out to match the theme within the Oharaimachi street.

Now time to eat!!! Usually when I travel to a new prefecture, I would like to try foods that are famous in that area. I made sure to research which restaurant I can eat with their famous dish. Which in luck Snoopy Cha-ya had and it was 伊勢うどん/Ise Udo and 手こね寿司/Tekonezushi. I have ordered those down below!

Let’s start with Ise Udon, which I thought would be a cold dish, however it was warm! The udon was very soft and tasty! For Tekonezushi, the combination of the fish and rice was sooo good. I honestly should’ve ordered 3 of those because I couldn’t get enough of it. I also ordered Cafe Latte in which I was able to receive a free Bell chocolate with whip cream!

After eating the deliciousness of Mie, it was time to go. At the register, they were selling Snoopy shaped まんじゅう/Manjyu/Steamed bun w/ red bean paste filling which is a great souvenir gift for friends or family.

Lastly, got to say goodbye to Snoopy and thanking him and his staff for the kind hospitality! If I ever travel back to Mie, I will definetly stop by here again!

Train
1. Walk from Nagoya Station to Chikatestu Nagoya station (5min)
2. From Chikatestu Nagoya Station/Chikatetsu Nagoya Line > Ujiyamada Station (2hrs/1,470yen for one way)
3. Take bus from Ujiyamada Station > Jingukaiganmae (20 min/350yen)
4. Walk straight from the bus stop and on the left hand side you will head towards Okage Yokocho.
5. Walk down the street to reach destination
