Hello friends! I visited this cute small cafe called 18 STORE and wanted to share with you what you can enjoy on a sunny day. Located in Yamaguchi Prefecture, this small owned cafe is actually in a hidden spot. Meaning that it is not accessible by train so I would recommend driving there or taking the taxi. Let me show you what 18 STORE has to offer.
It’s Ichi-Ba not Eighteen
Fun fact, 18 STORE is not called Eighteen Store, it’s actually “Ichi-Ba Store.” In kanji it would look like this 市場/ichi-ba which means market. Why would they name this cafe, “market” though? The reason behind this is because there are many markets located in the same area. I like how they have play on words for the name of the cafe. All this time I thought it was called Eighteen haha. Now lets get back to the cafe!
Once you enter the cafe, you can see instantly how stylish and small it is. You can dine outside as well if there are no seats left. No worries, they have patio umbrellas available if you want to avoid the sun. Now what to order…
Menu
It was honestly hard choosing what to eat because there are so many options. I would need to visit here often to try to eat everything on the menu. I want to try Tandori Chicken and Loco Moco in the future! If you can see in the picture down below on the left side, there are take-out options as well.
Homemade Sweets Set
For only 880yen you can get Homemade Sweets Set. You can choose 1 baked good, 1 drink, and 1 soft-serve ice cream which is a great deal! You can change your drink to expresso or smoothie for additional 100yen. I ordered Chocolate Chip Scorn, Honey Milk Latte, and Chocolate flavor soft-serve ice cream.
My friends have ordered lemon cakes, grape flavor ice cream, matcha flavor ice cream, mint soda, and orange juice. This was the perfect quiet day to eat sweets on the afternoon. We love to have a relaxed day!
On a different day, went to have a small lunch and ordered taco rice along with my go to honey cafe latte. I didn’t expect the taco rice to be quite big for 600yen, but it was worth it!
Overall, it is a great place to go there to refresh. It isn’t a busy spot besides lunch time and so you can definitely enjoy this cafe on a quiet sunny day (or rainy day).
